On 1st March 2014, two things happened: the first ever Walking Photographer Social began and the first sunny day of the year arrived!
The Walking Photographer Social is a monthly, informal photo walk and this first one marked the launch of Walking Photographer Tours, which will be running a wide variety of photography workshops throughout Yorkshire this year and beyond!
There were eight of us in total including Alfie the dog, though he didn’t get much photography done! We met outside The Fleece Inn, Addingham and downed our coffees before setting off on a 3 mile photo walk. The route took us through a wide variety of landscapes, historic features and buildings and natural scenery. The snowdrops were in full bloom and some of the wildlife spotted included Goosander and Dippers.

Throughout the walk we discussed some of the concepts behind composition and some ideas about what makes a good photo.
Fun and good times appeared to be had by all, and the sit down in the pub afterwards was welcomed by everyone, especially Alfie (the dog) who loved his spot by the log fire. A couple of us got to sample the new “Le Tour” themed ale from Daleside Brewery and Harrogate pub: Coach & Horses, named Pedal Power; and very nice it was too!
