My parents will enthusiastically tell anyone who listens, how from an early age I blamed all my faults on my genes and used genetics as absolution from any of my wrongs. Smart kid right?! What happened?! 😀

One of those many “inherited” dispositions that has carried on into later life, is my incessant need to identify locations in films and dramas (aloud!). And if that location happens to Surbiton Station (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) even better (and even more aloud!).

So when I saw Bill Pullman’s new backdrop in The Sinner (Season 4: Percy), identified as “Maine”, those same phenotypic traits started to kick in. No, it wasn’t Surbiton but it still felt familiar…

It had to be Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. And sure enough, a quick search on the TinTin-Net and score! Harry Ambrose’s (Bill Pullman) ‘Maine’ was/is mine (and yours) Lunenburg.

Enjoyment of our 2016 visit to this UNESCO site was somewhat thwarted by an unrelenting whirlpool of Norovirus. While I’ll spare you that saga for now (though for the curious, my Loo-nenburg and Best Laid Plans posts from a few years back will shed more light), I will share the few photos I did manage to get and haven’t really shared at this quaint and charming spot…
