If I printed out the imaginary flow chart ahead of our annual summer trips down south to see family it would be approaching something the size of the Bayeux Tapestry. One thing that is certain though is I will be getting up around 5am most mornings to get out with the camera. More often than not I’ll be heading to Bushy Park, which is a place I spent a great deal of my youth and where I learnt to ride a bike (though Richmond Park would argue a stake in that accomplishment too).

Bushy park is full of herons and for the most part they’re pretty tolerant of the hordes of people who visit daily. Seemingly more tolerant of people than other herons!  This sunrise encounter happened as a heron flew into a patch that was a little too close to another heron. The reaction was instantaneous.
