Controlled heather burnA couple of weeks ago I saw a sight I’d been hoping to capture for a while, a controlled heather burn.

Controlled burns are important for the upkeep of moorlands. As heather ages, it loses it’s nutritional value. Controlled burns help keep the moor’s heather fresh, vibrant and nutritious for inhabitants like the red grouse.
